I love Black Nerd and Geek Culture. It's so nice to have a safe and welcoming environment to geek out and cosplay in. Needless to say, when I came across Black Girl Nerds, I felt right at home.
One of the things that I admire about Black Girl Nerds, is that they also noticed a lack of social media representation for black male nerds.
Just yesterday, @BlackGirlNerds wondered where all the Black guy nerds were at. I mean, can you blame them? I rarely got to see the nerdy side of any of my black male friends. Black guy nerds need support and visibility too!
Next thing you know, Blerd twitter showed up and showed all the way out!
